Channing Tatum dyed his hair platinum blonde, and people have mixed feelings
Alongside man buns, fisherman caps, and an affinity for astronomically priced trainers, a certain breed of men - you know who I'm talking about - have been inspired by one of the seminal trends of the 00's: platinum blonde tresses.
We've already seen the follicles of Pete Davidson, Zac Efron, and Jonah Hill be compromised, and now it's claimed another victim: Channing Tatum.
Tatum took to his Instagram Stories to showcase his newly dyed hair. And perhaps he's having a latent reaction to his split from Jenna Dewan - or some sort of aesthetic crisis - but regardless, I think we can all agree that it's not a lewk.
As you can see, 59 per cent of the Magic Mike star's 17.1 million followers agreed that it was a bad idea.
Acknowledging the lacklustre response, Tatum followed up with another image which was captioned "Well, bad ideas are sort of my thing. So… [shrugging emoji]".
This new style comes days after Tatum and his alleged girlfriend, British singer, Jessie J, decided to take their romance public by flaunting some PDA. The couple were spotted holding hands as they walked through London together.
Tatum and the 30-year-old reportedly started dating back in October - several months after Tatum announced his split from ex-wife, Jenna Dewan.
In November, an inside source told ET that the actor was all for championing the singer's talent. "Channing wants to do nothing but support Jessie J in every way," the source claimed. "He has described her as 'all goodness' and told his friends she is such 'a super talent.' He seems to have become her No. 1 fan. His friends are so happy he has found someone. She is showing the same support to him."
"Jessie J has had some very difficult relationships in the past, men who haven’t been supportive and she even sings about them in her music," the insider continued. "This relationship is everything she has been searching for and she deserves it. Channing genuinely believes in her. Her friends are so happy because they see a positive change in her."
The 38-year-old announced his split from Jenna Dewan on Instagram back in April of last year.
"First off, it feels odd that we have to share this kind of thing with everyone, but it’s a consequence of the lives we’ve chosen to lead, which we also happen to be deeply grateful for. We’re living in an incredible moment in time, but it’s also a time where truth can easily get distorted into 'alternative facts' So we want to share the truth so you know that if you didn’t read it here then it’s most certainly fiction," the joint statement read.
"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone, Chan&Jenna."
