Chris Pratt just opened up about his divorce from Anna Faris and the internet is crying

It seems we're still recovering from the devastating news that one of Hollywood's Golden Couples, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, announced their divorce, but the couple themselves appear to be moving on. Anna is the first one to be dating again, seen multiple times out with cinematographer Michael Barrett. And Chris is back to his usual comical self on social media after a brief hiatus in past months.

It was nothing scandalous that caused the split, but rather a mutual agreement after they couldn't commit to each other as they would've liked to. "It's a little bit like, two incredibly busy people that care a lot for each other got really busy," Anna told The New York Times of the reasons the actors decided to get divorced. They were married for eight years and share a five-year-old son together named Jack.

Now, eight months on, Chris has opened up about the couple's divorce for the first time. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Chris said the whole thing "sucks" but that both individuals are "doing better" now that they've split up.

"Divorce sucks," the Jurassic World actor said. "But at the end of the day, we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much."

The couple both cited irreconcilable differences when filing for divorce, and both requested joint custody over Jack. He said that he and Anna are still friends:

"And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another.

"It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better."

It comes after Anna opened up on how she is doing after the divorce only a few weeks ago too. She told Women's Health that they are navigating through the divorce on friendly terms, keeping the interests of their son at heart.

"What Chris and I try to do is to communicate openly," she said. "We reiterate that there aren't rules to this. We have a lot of love and friendship, and our big goal is to protect Jack. I cherish my family, my close friends, my child—that makes the rest of it worth it."

This is her second divorce, after splitting from Ben Idra in 2008 after four years of marriage. After walking down the aisle twice now, Anna is unsure about the notion of marriage.

"I need to figure out what the purpose is," the 41-year-old explained in a podcast. "Is it safety for your children? Is it convention? Is it so other people respect your relationship more?"

"For me, I’m just not quite sure where it fits," she went on. "I am a romantic. I believe in a partnership, I believe in companionship. I just don’t know if I believe in a ceremony of a wedding."

While it seems Anna has been put off the idea of marriage, we're happy to see that she and Chris are going through the divorce on friendly and drama-free terms. No matter what, we still love you guys.
