Victoria Beckham reveals her clever trick for beating sugar cravings
If you're a sucker for a celebrity beauty hack, you're going to love what we have for you today. Veritable sartorial icon, and erstwhile pop-star, Victoria Beckham, has found a solution to beating her sugar cravings without giving in and indulging in a bar of the good stuff.
Between managing a fashion line, raising four children, and being married to a football icon, it's evident that Victoria Beckham has her work cut out for her. But unlike us, the 44-year-old remains disciplined and doesn't give into her cravings at the end of what has most likely been a long day. The former Spice Girl recently took to Instagram to reveal her favourite way to sweeten her morning coffee and breakfast without compromising on her health.
Victoria Beckham took to her Instagram stories to share how she sweetens her coffee and breakfast sans sugar. The clothing designer posted a snap of some chocolate and caramel flavour sweeteners next to her morning brew, with the caption: I am totally into these 'sweet drops'. Anyone know where I can get them in London??"
The sweeteners that Victoria was referring to are the SweetLeaf Sweet Drops Liquid Stevia, and on the brand's website they are described as being "America’s first zero-calorie, zero-carbohydrate, certified-paleo, non-glycemic-response sweetener." The drops are a healthier way to sweeten your drinks and dishes, and according to Victoria, they're so delicious that you won't even miss the white stuff.
It's apparent, however, that breakfast and coffee are just one step in Victoria's rather hectic morning routine. Not only does she need to wake and feed her four children, but she also manages to fit in not one but two workouts - and all before 9am. Speaking to the Sunday Times, Victoria said "I get up quite early, around 6am, and do an hour in the gym before the kids get up, then I give them breakfast and David or I take them to school."
She then fits in another workout before heading to the office. "I'm very disciplined, I have to be," she added, and yeah, I think you can say that again, Victoria...
Explaining that exercise provides her with some much needed (and well deserved) "me" time, Victoria continued "No one comes into the gym, no one follows me in there with a laptop. If I'm standing in the kitchen for too long, then laptops will come floating in my direction. Someone always wants something approved, something signed off. Other than the children no one dares come into the gym.
While we're probably not going to change up our entire morning routine to fit in two workout sessions, we can take one pearl of wisdom from Victoria Beckham today, and it's to swap out the sweet stuff for something a little healthier - whether it's the former pop-star's favoured Stevia drops, or something else, your body is sure to thank you for it in the long run.
