Woman with Britain's 'largest breasts' denied life-changing surgery for unexpected reason

The woman believed to have the biggest breasts in the UK was told by the NHS that she was not eligible for a reduction due to her weight, but she is now delighted she never went under the knife.

Despite her chest weighing a colossal 25kg, Summer Robert, 28, claims doctors did not allow her to get a breast reduction on the UK’s free healthcare system.

Allegedly, she did not qualify for the surgery three times, when she was 16, 17, and 22, which to her would be life-changing, as her Body Mass Index (BMI) was too high.

However, her breasts alone weigh more than a small child, making up most of her body fat percentage and throwing off her BMI.

What causes Summer to have such large breasts?

The OnlyFans star claims she has wanted to have a breast reduction since she was 14, by which point she was already an F cup.

The abnormally rapid growth of her breasts is caused by a rare condition called macromastia, also referred to as gigantomastia, which causes people to develop abnormally large breasts.

Alongside the chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain that Summer has endured for many years, Macromastia can also lead to infections or lesions under your breasts, painful indentations on the skin from your bra, and loss of feeling in your nipples, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

While most sufferers choose to have a breast reduction to manage symptoms, Summer claims she has never been offered the chance to go under the knife despite many doctors appointments related to her condition.

"Every single time they told me my BMI was too high, I would just continuously keep trying," she told People.

Why was Summer not eligible for a reduction?

To qualify for a breast reduction on the NHS, patients must meet a strict criteria - including being a certain weight.

Tragically, the adult content creator developed an eating disorder as she was “desperate” to meet the unattainable weight requirement.

Summer recalled: "My boobs just kept growing, despite me getting skinnier and skinnier and more unhealthy.

"It was a losing battle. My eating disorder became so severe that by the age of 15, I was admitted to rehab.

"For years after that, I was in a constant cycle of being in and out of treatment centres, desperately trying to find a path toward recovery. My mum went crazy at the doctors."

It was only when she turned 24 and discovered a, thankfully non-cancerous, lump that medical professionals finally recommended a breast reduction.

However, while preparing for the surgery, the coronavirus pandemic hit, and all non-emergency surgeries were paused.

During the following lockdown, she launched an OnlyFans account and is now “really happy” that she never had a reduction, as she has had huge success on the site and makes a lot of money.

Summer said: "My whole life, people have told me that my body’s weird because my boobs are so big," she said. "No one’s ever been nice about it.

"Then, when I made OnlyFans, everyone celebrated the fact that I have a different body. I realised that my body is actually beautiful instead of weird, like everyone else said. It changed everything."
