Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are relics of 00's culture in the same way that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are: flames that died out too fast.

And even years after their highly-publicised love triangle (ft. Angelina Jolie) and eventual split, the public can't help but speculate whenever they are so much as pictured close to one another.

Case in point: Brad turned up at his ex-wife's 50th birthday celebrations in Los Angeles' Sunset Tower over the weekend, and boy do people have something to say about it.

While plenty of celebrities came out for Jen's 50th - including the likes of Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, and George and Amal Clooney - it was Brad who, unsurprisingly, caused the biggest stir.

Snapped sneaking into the party wearing a baseball cap, it was evident that the Seven actor didn't want to bring undue attention to his presence. And while we're never going to know what exactly is going on with the two exes, the most likely explanation is that they have been able to strike up a friendship after all of these years - and just how lovely is that?

Back in 2017, numerous tabloids reported that the 55-year-old tracked down the actress's phone number via a "tangled web" of contacts to wish her happy birthday. According to sources, Brad then went onto "confide" in Jennifer about his then-recent split from Angelina Jolie. "Brad told her he's having a hard time with his split and they exchanged a few texts reminiscing about the past," the insider claimed.

But either way, the Dumplin actress recently opened up to Elle about her so-called "failed" marriages, asserting that relationships still have value, even if they come to a premature end.

"I don’t feel a void. I really don’t," she said. "My marriages, they’ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion. And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness doesn’t exist within that arrangement anymore."

"Sure, there were bumps, and not every moment felt fantastic, obviously, but at the end of it, this is our one life and I would not stay in a situation out of fear. Fear of being alone. Fear of not being able to survive," she continued.

"To stay in a marriage based on fear feels like you’re doing your one life a disservice. When the work has been put in and it doesn’t seem that there’s an option of it working, that’s okay. That’s not a failure. We have these clichés around all of this that need to be reworked and retooled, you know? Because it’s very narrow-minded thinking."

Well, if Brad and Jen can be friends, anyone can!
