Briel Adams-Wheatley, who has 5 million followers on TikTok and 1 million on Instagram, has become known for posting about cooking, beauty, mukbang videos, her life as a transgender woman, and day-to-day moments with husband Adam. The pair are set to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary this June, after first matching on Tinder in February 2020.

Born in Brazil with a severe form of Hanhart Syndrome and later adopted by a family in Utah, Briel has often shared details about her life journey. But in May 2025, she and Adam tackled one question followers keep bringing up, posting a candid Instagram video captioned: “A question I've been getting a lot lately so here’s my husband’s response!”

The question followers keep asking

In the video, Briel opened up about when Adam first knew about her transition, saying: “I started my transition a year after we got married, right?”

Adam replied: “I think so, but you told me way before everybody else.”

Briel then explained: “Yeah, I had also told him a little bit before we got married, too that I was having feelings about it, but I just wasn't sure if it was something I was comfortable with, actually fully going into and just keeping suppressed. And if he was comfortable with it and everything.

"But Adam was the first person to know before everyone. And I waited a few months before I did it publicly as well. I already started a few things behind the scenes.”

The couple’s openness struck a chord, with many praising how honest they were in addressing a topic people had been curious about for months.

Adam’s response won people over

Adam’s answer to the recurring question quickly grabbed attention online.

“I really couldn't care less about her transitioning. I mean, like, I'm very happy that she found who she is. And I've seen a big difference in her happiness and confidence and everything. But I mean, I fell in love with her and not what she was, just who she was,” he said.

He also spoke candidly about adjusting during that period, adding: “It was hard going from like pronouns for more than one reason. One, because I knew before everybody else. So I had to use he/him in front of people, and I couldn't remember who she had told yet or not.

"And so it was really confusing to use one thing at home and another [outside their home]. And then as soon as I got the pronouns under control, she changed her name and then started wearing wigs.

"It was just a lot of learning, learning, learning, learning, learning. But it was a good journey. She was patient with me.”

Many viewers pointed to Adam’s comments as the reason the clip resonated so widely, with the couple giving followers a rare look at how they handled such a personal chapter together.

Their relationship continues to inspire

For followers who have watched their relationship unfold online, the video offered another glimpse into the bond that has helped turn Briel and Adam into one of social media’s most talked-about couples.

From sharing everyday routines to answering deeply personal questions, the pair have built a following through honesty, humor and openness. And with their fifth anniversary around the corner, their latest viral moment has only added to the fascination surrounding their love story.
