Chrissy Teigen shares new photo of baby Miles and opens up about IVF

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend just welcomed their second child - a baby boy - last month. The model and co-host of Lip Sync Battle  announced the news on Twitter, writing "Somebody's herrrrrrre!" along with a series of baby bottle emojis. She then took to Instagram to reveal their newborn son's name. "Hello, world! This is Miles Theodore Stephens," Teigen wrote. "We are drowning in his little peeps and nuzzles. Our household feels overwhelmed with love. Thank you for all your well wishes!"

The newborn joins the pair's two-year-old daughter, Luna Simone Stephens. Teigen, who is currently working on her second cookbook, announced her pregnancy last November via an adorable video of her firstborn pointing to her stomach and squealing "Baby!"

However, it appears that Luna hasn't quite grasped the fact that she's now a big sister. Speaking to E! Entertainment at a red carpet event in January, Legend explained "We know there's a baby in there and she can say 'baby' but I don't really know if she knows what it means for her mother to be carrying another child and for that child to be her little sibling. I don't know if she's ready for that yet."

"She’ll figure it out sooner or later, and she’ll probably have some moments where she regrets it! But we’re excited," he continued.

Now, Teigen has opened up about IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) - a process which she and Legend went through to have two-year-old Luna and Miles.

On Tuesday, the mother-of-two took to Instagram to post a new photo of Miles, with the caption "Hey dudes".

Naturally, the adorable snap went down a storm, but one of Teigen's followers got personal, and asked about Teigen's experience with IVF. "I know IVF was used for Luna, was it used for baby brother also?" they wrote.

Teigen, who has previously described IVF as a "miracle" process, was unfazed by the fan's question. "Yep, he was on ice a smidge longer. Science and the human body are beautiful. I wasn’t offended by it – people are just curious and I think hearing success stories gives people hope. I’m all for talking about IVF," she stated.

Naturally, the people of the internet were all for the model's honesty, and many chimed in with their own experiences of IVF.

"As an IVF baby I think it’s really good to talk about! My parents went through the process before there was much success. They had to walk through protesters at the clinic calling the process unnatural! We should be proud that science has helped so many lives!" one individual asserted, while a hopeful mother-to-be corroborated "Thank you so much for being open about IVF. I am on day 5 of injections and your posts about your sweet babies are totally keeping me positive."

Back in April, Teigen described her IVF experience to The Cut, and revealed that it wasn't all smooth-sailing. "Ours didn’t work the first time, and it was devastating," she disclosed. "You realise that a lot of it is luck, and you can’t blame things on yourself. It’s so easy to try to figure out what you might have done ‘wrong’ and do the opposite the next time. The first round I did of IVF when it didn’t work, I remember thinking, ‘Oh, I was on my feet too much, and that’s why.’ You just look for anything to blame, especially yourself. I think hearing stories is just really important. You realise there’s no right way to do it or right way to react."

Well, good on Chrissy for being so open about a topic that needs to be discussed more openly!
