Taylor Swift fans are freaking out over her public romantic gesture for Joe Alwyn

Regardless of whether she's crooning country ballads, or straight out refusing to come to the phone (the old Taylor is dead, didn't you know, folks?), America's biggest female pop-star never fails to polarise.

Certainly, although Swift kicked off her worldwide Reputation stadium tour on Tuesday, her personal life has again reigned supreme with tabloid critics. In the last week, she purportedly ended her long-standing feud with Katy Perry (with a literal olive-branch no less), and her gripes with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian - a narrative, bear in mind, that she famously wished to be excluded from - have continued to play out over the past few months.

However, there is something different this time around, namely that there's no sign of a romantic breakdown. In fact, Taylor appears to be head-over-heels in love with her current beau, Joe Alwyn, and this was evidenced on Tuesday night - to the delight of her fans.

If you ever doubted that Swift's romantic ode Gorgeous was about her boyfriend, the 28-year-0ld set the record straight on Tuesday night. Want some cold, hard evidence? No problem. A video of Swift pointing at Alwyn while singing Gorgeous on the first night of her international tour has been making the rounds on social media - and it conclusively proves that everyone's favourite country-star-gone-rogue is in love, once again.

As you can see, Swift's public declaration of love proved to be too much for her die-hard fans. In fact, it was originally spotted by an eagle-eyed enthusiast, who attended Tuesday's concern in Arizona. She managed to capture the very subtle interchange between Swift and Alwyn via her smartphone, and the tweet which contained the 27-second clip quickly went viral, of course.

Social media were all for the gesture. "TAYLOR POINTING TO JOE BEFORE GORGEOUS IS EVERYTHING I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED," one Twitter user wrote, while another corroborated "TAYLOR POINTING TO JOE DURING GORGEOUS WAS THE CUTEST THING IVE SEEN."

A third individual was in sheer disbelief, writing "HOW IS HE KEEPING CALM".

The pop-singer recently opened up about her many feuds, and the - er - reputation that she has amassed over the years. During the first night of her tour, Swift asserted "A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media, and it caught on. Then, a lot of people were calling me a lot of things on social media. And I went through some really low times for a while because of it. I went through some times when I didn't know if I was going to get to do this anymore."

The 28-year-old was clearly referring to an episode back in 2016, wherein she clashed with rapper Kanye West after he called her a b*tch and took credit for her fame in his single, Famous.

No rest for the wicked, eh?
